什么是长句子?在考研英语中，简单的句子被称为单句，它有一套完整的主谓宾结构，而长句子就是包含了很多单句，且主谓宾结构依然完整的句子。要想理解文章的总体结构，就要从单句之间、段落之间的关系入手，而单句与段落之间的衔接点在哪里呢?就是长句子。单句构成了长句，而长句构成了段落，所以长句子成为考研阅读理解乃至整个考研英语的难点，就见怪不怪了。
理解作者的意图、观点或态度
