The sea has always interested man.From it he can get food,minerals,and treasure.For thousands of years,he could sail on it.But he could not go far beneath its surface.
Man wants to explore deep into the sea.However,he is not a fish.Because he must breathe air,he can not stay under the water’s surface for any length of time.To explore deep water,man faces even more dangers and problems.

When a diver is under great pressure,his blood takes in some of gases he breathes.As he rises to surface,the water pressure becomes less.If the diver rises too quickly,the gases in his blood form bubbles.The diver is then suffering from the bends (潜水员病).The bends can cause a diver to double up in pain.They can even kill him.

　　九州生气恃风雷,

　　我劝天公重抖擞,③
　　不拘一格降人材.
　　【作者】
　　1792－1841,字璱人,更名巩祚,号定庵、羽岑（左应加王旁）山民,仁和人.
　　道光进士,官礼部主事.有《定庵全集》.自珍为近代学术思想的启蒙学者,
　　其诗能开拓新宇,气势磅礴,色彩瑰丽,影响清末诗界革命派及南社诗人.
　　“同光体”首领沈植亦称之为“奇才”,以为“定庵之才,数百年所仅有也.”
　　【注释】
　　①己亥：道光十九年（1839）.这年作者四十八岁,因不满于清朝官场的黑暗,
　　辞官去京返杭.后因接眷属又往返一次.这一年往返京杭道中,共作七绝三百
　　一十五首,统名《己亥杂诗》.这里选录的一首,原列第一百二十五首.作者
　　自注：“过镇江,见赛玉皇及风神、雷神者,祷祠无数,道士乞撰青词.”
　　②万马齐喑：语出苏轼《三马图赞序》：“振鬣（马鬃）长鸣,万马皆喑.”

　　【品评】
　　龚自珍的《己亥杂诗》,是自传式的大型组诗,是宋末汪元量以后这一诗
　　歌体式的新发展.程金凤评赞说：“行间璀璨,吐属瑰丽”,“声情沉烈,悱
　　恻遒上,如万玉哀鸣.”这和青乔《咄咄吟》内容集中反映鸦片战争甬东之役
　　者不同,也和后来黄遵宪《己亥杂诗》的风格有异.这一首是龚自珍《己亥杂
　　诗》中最突出的一首,最能体现作者的精神及对时代的要求.作者就眼前赛神
　　会的玉皇等形象,巧妙地联系到“天公”、“风雷”进行构思,表现了清王朝
　　统治下人们的思想十分压抑,社会一片死寂的“万马齐喑”的现实.这一现实
　　是“可哀”的,作者在召唤着巨大的社会变革风雷的到来,期待着生气勃勃的
　　新局面的出现.新局面是不可能自动出现的,他要依靠人才去破坏旧世界,缔
　　造新世界.
